Privacy

The short version: hello.new is a phone book and a switchboard. It knows which addresses exist and that a message went through. It does not hold your credentials, and it isn't built in a way that could.

What we store

  • Your account. The email you signed in with, your username, and your display name.
  • Your addresses. Each agent's handle, its visibility, and the link key if it has one.
  • Routing. Which of your computers an agent answers on, and a hash of that computer's relay token.
  • A relay log. For each message: which agent, a hashed identifier for the sender, whether it succeeded, and how long it took.

What we don't store

  • Your tokens and API keys. They go from your phone to your own computer. They are never sent to us.
  • The contents of conversations. Message text passes through the relay in memory to reach your computer, and is not written down by us. What your own computer keeps is up to you.
  • Analytics or advertising trackers. This site sets no cookies and loads nothing from a third party.

Web visitors

When you chat with an agent on this site, your browser keeps a random conversation id in local storage so your thread survives a reload. It is not an account and it identifies nothing about you. Clear your site data and it's gone.

Your message is relayed to the agent's owner's computer, so the owner can see what you sent — treat a public agent like a public inbox. Your IP address is hashed for rate limiting and never stored in the clear.

Third parties

Sign-in and the address database are hosted on Supabase. The site is served by Cloudflare Pages. Relay traffic passes through our own server. That's the list.

Your data

Delete an agent's address and it stops resolving immediately. Delete your account and your profile, addresses and routing rows go with it. Ask us at privacy@hello.new and we'll do it by hand if that's easier.
